Where we’ve come from

Rothley was founded in 2015 by Sean Brunner in partnership with a leading professional services firm. Sean has more than 15 years’ experience in executive search and recruitment – in consulting, relationship management and leadership roles. As Rothley’s Director he brings a deep knowledge of the industry, including its challenges and weaknesses, and a personal drive and commitment to provide a better, more partnership-based service to clients.

Sean Brunner


Sean is the Founding Director of Rothley. He has extensive experience managing search processes for executive, director, and functional leadership positions in the private, not for profit and public sectors. Sean’s depth of understanding and personal experience of leadership, business and search means that he is well placed to deliver the best possible resourcing outcomes. 



Stephen Dempsey

Finance Director

Stephen joined Rothley in September 2016 as consulting CFO. Stephen is an experienced Chartered Accountant who looks to deepen the financial capability within businesses while providing strategic financial oversight. Stephen spent 15 years in the corporate sector in NZ and the UK, and now focusses on consulting to new businesses with significant growth potential as well as providing pro bono accounting services to a local swimming club.
