Executive search and consulting is what Rothley does – we know the business, and we take the time to know your business and its specific context, culture and challenges. Based in Wellington and Auckland, we are a subsidiary of leading professional services firm MartinJenkins.  

Where we’ve come from

Rothley was founded in 2015 by Sean Brunner in partnership with MartinJenkins. Sean has more than 15 years’ experience in executive search and recruitment – in consulting, relationship management and leadership roles. As Rothley’s Managing Director he brings a deep knowledge of the industry, including its challenges and weaknesses, and a personal drive and commitment to provide a better, more partnership-based service to clients.

The close alignment between Rothley and MartinJenkins reflects our parallel approaches and shared values, which focus on fresh thinking, straight shooting, high quality engagement, and long-term relationships. MartinJenkins has more than 20 years’ experience of helping organisations develop strategy, optimise their structures and systems, and improve performance. With our shared culture and complementary networks, we provide integrated solutions to larger planning and resourcing needs.

Sean Brunner

Sean Brunner

Managing Director

Sean is Rothley’s Managing Director, specialising in Executive Search and Consultancy. Before founding Rothley with MartinJenkins in 2015, Sean was a Director and Practice Lead with a global professional recruitment firm in New Zealand and Australia (Robert Walters).

Sean has extensive experience in search and in recruiting mid- to senior-level positions for clients in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors. His leadership, consulting and relationship management experience spans more than 15 years.



Kevin Jenkins

Kevin Jenkins

Board Chair

Kevin is the Chair of Rothley with over 30 years’ experience in professional services. His governance experience is extensive: he has previously chaired Petroleum Logistics Ltd, he is a Niue Public Service Commissioner, and he is Managing Director of MartinJenkins, a leading New Zealand professional services firm.

MartinJenkins advises corporates, central and local government, international organisations and NGOs, and has a strong track record of delivering pragmatic and effective solutions, often in complex or sensitive political environments.

Kevin specialises in strategy, organisational performance and design, and in leading major strategy and change initiatives.

Brad Winger

Brad Winger

Associate Director

Brad is an Associate Director in Rothley's Auckland office, and he specialises in professional permanent and contract recruitment.

Brad has recently returned home from Melbourne where he spent five successful years building specialist Supply Chain and Procurement capability for a highly regarded organically grown, mid-sized recruitment firm (Six Degrees Executive). Brad's 10 years in the recruitment industry spans London, Auckland and Melbourne across IT, FMCG, Pharmaceuticals, transport and logistics and professional services.

Bridget Vaney

Bridget Vaney

Associate Director

Bridget is an Associate Director in Rothley's Wellington office, specialising in Executive Search.

Bridget has worked for some of New Zealand's best known search firms, working on key leadership positions to Chief Executive level in the government and private sectors, as well as specialist positions in strategy, policy, research and evaluation. Bridget has helped lead the development of robust search and assessment methodology and honed her skills earlier in her career proactively identifying and attracting high quality leadership talent. Bridget has 10 years experience and has deep knowledge of New Zealand's executive community. 

Josh Blackmore

Associate Director

Josh is an Associate Director in Rothley's Wellington office, specialising in Executive Search and Consulting.

Josh has 10 years’ experience recruiting executive, mid- to senior-level and specialist positions in New Zealand and the UK.  Before joining Rothley, Josh was a Practice Lead for a global professional recruitment firm for four years where he led a team focussing on accounting and financial services appointments. He has an extensive network across the New Zealand management community and is valued by his clients for his honesty and quality of delivery.

Chloe Bodley

Associate

Chloe is an Associate based in the Wellington office.

Her background in business support and recruitment provides the breadth of experience required for the Associate role. In it, Chloe manages the search and appointment process of a range of consultancy assignments and also supports Rothley's executive search offering by engaging with the market and providing insights, both internally and to clients.

 

Kate Murdoch

Principal Consultant

Kate is a Principal Consultant in Rothley's Auckland office, specialising in executive search and professional recuitment.

Kate's experience is extensive. She has previously worked at Senior Consultant and Management level for a prominent global executive recruitment firm in London, Auckland and Wellington and has proven experience recruiting at mid-senior management level. Kate is sought after for quickly understanding and solving the most complex and challenging resourcing requirements. 

Julie Cressey

Julie is the Director of Rothley's Auckland office.

She is an experienced organisational development and recruitment expert with strengths across talent management and organisational development. Julie has had particular success assisting a wide range of organisations with their internal talent initiative and has led teams to deliver services in recruitment, psychometric assessments and a broad range of OD initiatives.

Sally Gould

Sally Gould

Engagement Manager

Along with providing executive search expertise, Sally manages Rothley's communications and client engagement.

Sally’s first role in executive search was in 2008 when she joined a leading search firm as a Researcher. In that role, her innate curiosity helped uncover talent and her engaging manner influenced and determined positive results. Following this position, Sally was a Senior Consultant managing a marketing and communications recruitment portfolio, and was most recently a fundraising manager - both roles relying on Sally's commitment to building quality relationships through personal engagement . 

Sandra Davies

Sandra Davies

Administration Manager

Sandra is Rothley's Administration Manager based in our Wellington office.

Sandra is responsible for the smooth operational management of both the Wellington and Auckland offices. She provides administrative support, coordinates and delivers events, liaises with clients and works closely with Rothley management on finance and operations.
